This year, the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Standards of Medical Care features a more robust section on lifestyle management, which is always a critical component of diabetes management. In addition, the ADA recently published an updated position statement on physical activity/exercise and diabetes.</p><p class="p1">This article highlights the most important lifestyle recommendations that are useful to busy family physicians that will help achieve good outcomes for patients with diabetes, with particular attention to the new exercise position statement.
