Pharmaceutical representative rounds: teaching resident physician–pharmaceutical representative interactions
Abstract
Physicians interact with pharmaceutical representatives on a frequent basis and such interactions may influence one's prescribing habits. Providing educational and training opportunities for physicians to interact with pharmaceutical representatives in a meaningful manner speaks directly to the American Osteopathic Association Code of Ethics section relating to interaction of physicians with pharmaceutical companies. Currently no uniform curricula exist for such opportunities within graduate medical education.Downloads
